autumn equinox art with littles

two simple projects to work with your elementary based students for an autumn equinox celebration.

AUTUMN ANIMALS

cardboard, egg carton, paint, hot glue, colored pencils

  • cut out egg carton animal head shape and glue to cardboard

  • paint your animal head and draw the animal body below

  • outline the body with sharpie and fill in body with colored pencils, while also painting the remaining cardboard the same color as the head

  • attache. the body to another cardboard shape and decorate as desired.

FOX DEN

cardboard, paint, glitter, construction paper, pencil, scissors, hot glue

  • paint background cardboard blue, and hot glue a “hill” and den cut out to the top

  • fill in the den with paper or paint and add a fox and den details inside (use any medium here)

  • glue brown construction paper on the fox den, alternating shades

  • glue a cardboard tree to the top, adding ripped paper leaves

  • add a moon, and voila!
